I saw this exact coin sold on eBay for around $100 by over a dozen of sellers claiming they are 22K solid gold issued in 1865 by Mexican Government. So I chose 10 of good quality from the lot and send to NGC for Assay. NGC findings were following 1. They are really made in 1865 in Mexico. 2. They are about 9K solid gold made over 150 years ago back then they did not had gold plating technology so they made gold clad which is 100s times thicker than modern making overall content of the coin about 9K. Last time this clad technology was used on massive scale by US Government to produce 40% Kennedy silver dollars and in Germany to produce 40% gold marks. 3. This coin bears the image of Emperor Maximiliano I who reigned from 1864 to 1867, but not issued Mexican government but fantasy coins. 4. They weight about half gram each and size about 10 mm. 5. If you you like the best grades certified by NGC to be shipped with NGC assays please add $40 because otherwise I ship non assayed coin
