Plate block of 20 vintage 1975 USPS multi-color 10-cent commemorative stamps. Mint/Never hinged. Full original gummed back.
Design by Stevan Dohanos is based on an early Christmas card designed by Louis Prang, who is sometimes called “the father of the American Christmas card.”
The 10-cent denomination is not printed on these stamps as it was unknown at the time if there would be a rate increase before the Christmas season. This is the first time in US postal history that a stamp was issued without a denomination.
When multiple blocks are offered, the series numbers in the selvage may vary from the one listed in the description and photo.
