This is an antique Excelsior spring balance scale with a capacity of 50 lbs. It's made of brass and is marked, "Exlcelsior /Improved /Spring Balance /Sargent & Co. /U.S.A." Length overall: 10 inches. Condition: scale has a dent at top and an old repair, top right, also a few other, small dents on edges. This condition adds to the scale's history and charm, to many collectors.
